Hand-Painted Ceramic Tile Art

Welcome to my collection of hand-painted ceramic tile artworks—where tradition meets contemporary expression. Each tile is painted by hand on ceramics, merging vibrant motifs, expressive line work, and thoughtful composition. Inspired by the rich heritage of Portuguese azulejos, I reinterpret the form through a distinctive visual language that emphasizes gesture, color, and narrative.

Using fine ceramic pigments and glazes, I layer intuitive brushstrokes and abstract elements across each surface, transforming tiles into poetic miniatures that stand as singular artworks or harmonious panels. Whether intended as standalone wall art or architectural accents, these tiles offer a timeless, artisanal presence that enriches both domestic and gallery spaces.

“Labyrinth of Memory” in Ceramics

In this work, the labyrinth symbolizes the fragmented and winding path of memory – an inner space where thoughts and recollections intertwine and fade. The figures, withdrawn into themselves, evoke moments of introspection and stillness, as if searching for meaning within the corridors of the mind.

Hand-Painted Tile Panel – “Fragmented Dream”

This original hand-painted ceramic tile panel invites a journey through the space of the unconscious.
Between ascent and inversion, the child figure crosses the threshold between reality and fantasy.
The dream is approached here as a fragmented territory — a place where logic dissolves and images build their own coherence.
Ceramic becomes the medium for a symbolic narrative that questions the boundary between the real and the imagined.

Hand-Painted Ceramic Tile Panel – “Silence”

Silence

Between a man and a woman, silence settles — not as absence, but as a space of communion.
His thought turns into a sea voyage; hers, into roots that grow deeper.
Two opposite and complementary movements: that of the one who departs and the one who remains.
Between them, the wall and the void become a territory of listening, where words dissolve and presence becomes whole.
Silence, here, is an inner dialogue — a landscape where thought sails and takes root.

About Me

I am a professional fine artist (drawing and painting) and illustrator, passionate about transforming drawing into creations that bring beauty and meaning to everyday life.

My work seeks to bring poetry into the present, blending tradition with contemporary expression, exploring nature, and using drawing as a universal language.

When I am not drawing, I am probably experimenting with new techniques or imagining the next project.

Drawing portraits from observation is one of my main skills so you can count on me for that!

I have a degree in fine art – painting and a master in Drawing (Fbaul). Erasmus scholarship in Turin, Italy and an intensive drawing course at the Slade School of art, London. I have work published throughout the world and I’m represented by Trindade Gallery, Porto.
